Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid
Lightweight yet deeply replenishing, this powerful hydrator transforms dehydrated and depleted skin for your most radiant, fresh complexion yet. Lily & Sage Hydrating Serum creates and locks in moisture, maintaining healthy hydration so your skin can thrive.
Hyaluronic Acid is powerful stuff. But don’t let the word “acid” fool you. This gel-like water-holding molecule is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps keep skin plump and hydrated. And, it’s actually something our bodies naturally produce. Many people use harmful beauty products to keep their skin looking vibrant and young. But there’s a better way. Hyaluronic acid (HA) can keep your skin glowing without the harmful side effects of toxic skin products. Scientific studies have shown that Hyaluronic Acid helps improve skin hydration and production of collagen, fight free radicals, maintain skin elasticity, and even has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help with wound healing. Yes, please!
Hyaluronic Acid helps retain over 1,000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it an excellent moisturizer. It acts as a “humectant,” meaning: it works like a sponge to help skin retain water and “plump” the skin up. When you add moisture to the skin, you’re giving the HA added water to absorb and hold onto, rather than pulling moisture out of dry skin. When hyaluronic acid comes into contact with water, skin ends up hydrated and healthy (and in the morning, a smooth canvas for applying makeup, without the symptom of “settling into fine lines” that often happens around the eyes). The hyaluronic acid brings moisture to the surface of the skin and holds it there, keeping your skin continually moisturized through the day. Enter Lily & Sage Facial Mist with Hydrosols. Simply mist face after washing, apply Lily & Sage Hydrating Serum, then mist again and move on with your day feeling refreshed and moisturized.
So why do we need more if our bodies already produce it? The average human body contains about 15 grams of Hyaluronic Acid. However, one third of that gets degraded and synthesized on a daily basis. We also produce less and less as we age. This leads to wrinkles and a loss of bounce in the skin. So we want more, which is why many anti-aging products contain Hyaluronic Acid.
Facial Mist with Hydrosols
Lily & Sage Facial Mist is without a doubt, the pinnacle of hydrosol facial mists. Made with only the cleanest ingredients, these hydrosols help to refresh dry and depleted skin. This mist is loaded with Rose, Melissa, Jasmine and Lavender hydrosols, along with essential oils of Geranium, Neroli and Frankincense and finished with hyaluronic acid and glycerin which helps to draw in the moisture from the air to keep your skin looking and feeling refreshed.
What is a hydrosol? Hydrosols are produced by distilling fresh leaves, fruits, flowers, and other plant materials, such as bark, roots and wood. Hydrosols have similar properties to essential oils, but are much less concentrated. Hydrosols are amazing in Toners! Depending on the material it was extracted from, it can be soothing, hydrating, or antibacterial. Toners are a liquid sprayed onto the skin and absorbed almost immediately. It is one of the fastest ways to introduce wanted benefits into the skin.
Most people skip this skincare step thinking that hydrosol is just worthless water, and it could be, but it depends on the product. Hydrosols sometimes are called Floral waters, but usually these are totally different products. Floral waters are made by adding a small amount (up to 1% in facial skin care and up to 2% in body products) of essential oil or essential oil blend. The mixture is left for a few days and then essential oils are filtered off. Since only the aroma is left in the water, and there are no water soluble substances that are created in the process of the distillation, the benefits are not comparable to hydrosols.
Use this mist before and after application of your Lily & Sage Hydrating Serum and enjoy the benefits of both the facial mist and serum!
Rose hydrosol is nourishing and moisturizing to skin of all types. It is rich in vitamin C, which boosts collagen and prevents premature aging. It also makes a wonderful facial toner due to its astringent properties. It leaves skin feeling tighter, firmer and non-oily.
Melissa hydrosol, in regards to skin, has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties and works well to aid in the treatment of hormonal acne.
Jasmine hydrosol is known to help fight signs of aging and has amazing antiseptic, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties. Bonus, it can aid in stress relief!
Lavender hydrosol can be used as a facial toner for tightening sagging skin and smoothing out fine lines. It relieves irritated skin and has anti-inflammatory, cleansing, and skin soothing properties.
